Knowledge sharing to propel innovation and sustainability in construction

Key issues to be discussed include:

  • Technological innovation in construction: Cutting-edge technologies such as Building Information Modelling (BIM), robotics and 3D printing, and their applications in streamlining construction processes, reducing costs and enhancing efficiency.
  • Green building practices: Sustainable construction materials, energy-efficient designs and green building certifications, and how these practices can contribute to reducing the environmental footprint of construction projects and achieving energy efficiency goals.
  • Circular economy in construction: The concept of a circular economy within the construction industry, emphasising the reuse, recycling and repurposing of materials, and strategies to minimise construction waste and promote a more sustainable approach to resource management.
  • Resilient and disaster-resistant construction: Innovative construction practices that contribute to building resilient structures capable of withstanding natural disasters, and materials and technologies that enhance the durability and safety of buildings and infrastructure.
  • Capacity development: The need for skills development and training programmes to equip the workforce with the knowledge and expertise required to implement innovative and sustainable construction practices, ongoing initiatives and potential improvements in training programmes.

The key focus of the webinar is to facilitate knowledge sharing, aiming to propel innovation and sustainability within the construction industry. The anticipated outcomes encompass an understanding of diverse realms open to innovation within the construction industry, real-world demonstrations showcasing the practical application of innovation in both engineering design and construction, and how innovation within the construction sector can actively contribute to fostering sustainable development.
