General Data Protection Regulation

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a new European directive relating to data protection that was adopted on 27 April 2016 and will come into effect on 25 May 2018. It replaces the data protection directive from 1995. The UK is required to implement and abide by the regulation from May 2018 at up until it leaves the European Union (expected by Summer 2019).
