NV5 Global has acquired building information modelling, reality capture and digital twin solutions provider myBIMTeam
Founded in 2003 by Troy Mifsud, myBIMTeam provides building digitization services on a subscription basis. Its reality capture technologies produce 3D models used in planning, renovation and operations across the education, healthcare and industrial sectors.
Subscription services include software implementation, advisory services, laser scanning and modelling.
Nasdaq-listed NV5 said the acquisition is part of continued investment in high-growth technology and tech-enabled services.
“MyBIMteam’s subscription-based service delivery model supports NV5’s strategic focus on expanding recurring and subscription-based services that facilitate long-term client relationships and organic growth,” said Dickerson Wright, PE, executive chairman of NV5.
Building digitalisation ‘key to tech growth’
NV5 provides technology, conformity assessment and consulting services to public and private sector clients supporting sustainable infrastructure, utility and building assets and systems.
The Florida-based company operates out of more than 100 offices in the United States and abroad.
Ben Heraud, co-CEO of NV5, said: “NV5 has recognised that building digitization is an essential part of the vision for technology growth, incorporating digital twins and 3D reality capture into our entire building systems portfolio, including data centers, clean energy conversion, systems design and commissioning, and we’re pleased to welcome TMCADD’s talented technical experts to the NV5 team.”
Troy Mifsud, president of myBIMteam, added: “We are excited about the growth opportunities NV5 brings to our team, and we look forward to expanding our current offerings to our clients with NV5’s full portfolio of services.”
Last month, NV5 acquired GIS Solutions, a developer of web-enabled geospatial asset monitoring applications for US state departments of transportation.
Shortly after, the firm won a $19.5m contract from the California Department of Transportation.
Under the three-year deal, NV5 will provide reporting to support the quality, safety and compliance of transportation infrastructure projects in District 7 in Northern Los Angeles County, which includes some of the busiest road networks in the state.
