Construction Startup Competition 2024 has issued an open call for entries from emerging companies focused on green construction, enhanced productivity, the supply chain and disruptive technologies
Now in its eighth year, the industry’s biggest competition for construction startups is jointly hosted by Cemex Ventures, Caterpillar, Dysruptek by Haskell, Ferrovial, Hilti, VINCI Group’s Leonard, NOVA by Saint-Gobain, Trimble, and Zacua Ventures.
Entries are invited across four categories: Green Construction, Enhanced Productivity, Construction Supply Chain and Future of Construction.
Green Construction
This category is for construction startups focused on:
- Carbon Capture, Utilisation & Storage (CCUS).
- Carbon tools & calculators.
- Circular construction & waste management.
- New raw material streams & composites.
- Sustainable materials.
- Machinery electrification.
- Alternative fuels & new energy resources.
- Sustainable products libraries & Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs).
- Water efficiency.
- Environment conservation.
Enhanced Productivity
This category is looking for solutions in areas such as:
- Geotechnical analysis.
- Project tendering.
- Project design & budgeting.
- Planning & schedule optimisation.
- BIM & digital twins.
- Project monitoring & control.
- Document management.
- Health & safety tools.
- Insurance & risk management.
- Payments & finance tools.
- Project quality.
- Asset maintenance.
Construction Supply Chain
This category is for construction startups involved in:
- Procurement platforms.
- Marketplaces.
- Materials & orders tracking.
- Fleet management.
- Delivery & last-mile platforms.
- Inventory management & onsite handling.
- Workforce management.
Future of Construction
The Future of Construction is aimed at construction startups working on disruptive technologies such as:
- 3D printing & additive manufacturing.
- Industrialised & automatised construction.
- Robotics.
- Connected and autonomous plants & equipment.
- Optimisation of materials manufacturing.
- Smart buildings & cities.
Construction Startup Competition timeline
After side events in San Diego, California, on 4 June, London on 5 June and a Paris Summit Panel on 27 June, the applications phase will close on 30 June.
Winners will be selected in late October.
Selected construction startups will receive equity-free cash prizes and competition applicants are eligible to receive strategic investment to help grow their businesses exponentially.
The winners will also have the chance to pitch their solutions to industry experts and investors at the Trimble Dimensions User Conference, which takes place 11-13 November in Las Vegas, Nevada.
